name coalpaw,coalfrost
age 8 moons
gender tom
clan vertigoclan
rank apprentice
reason for name coal- for his jet black appearance, -paw for his apprentice ranking.-frost for his unusual blue eyes
appearance descriptionappearance wise, coalpaw is a bit of an oddity. his mother always thought it was extremely odd that he was born with blue eyes, but the tom definitely bathes in his difference. most black cats are given simple colors - green, orange, or yellow. but nope, coalpaw is different. his eyes are a piercing, icy blue. they could look straight through your soul, and make a cat freeze in fear. the confident little tom takes pride in them. all kits are born with blue eyes, but as coalpaw grew up there was no change.
like his entire family, coalpaw is a jet black cat. they've all been just like him, some darker and some lighter. the only oddity of the family is ashpaw, coalpaw's older brother. he is a light gray. and then there is the average-sized, jet black and blue eyed coalpaw.
as for the rest of coalpaw, he isn't much to look at. the young tom has a medium build with long whiskers and an unusually short tail. his only major difference is those big blue eyes. his mother thinks he is the most handsome thing in the clan, and of course arrogant coalpaw would agree.
quirks- high expectations of self, wants to be the greatestpersonality
- extremely scared of failure, but would never let anyone know
- his cockiness is more of a defense mechanism than anything
- looks up to older brother, a lot like a father figure in his life
- doesn't like talking about family, especially his father
- feels like he is constant competition with graypawcoalpaw isn't very complicated at all. he is a very straightforward and honest tom who can be a bit of a cocky asshole. he isn't the type of cat who will tell you a lie and tell you that everything is going to be okay, when it clearly won't be. he is straightforward and straight to his point. some cats love him for that, some cats hate him. he can't help it. the tom is a bit mature for his age, and has trouble making friends because of this.
despite that, he is still extremely arrogant. it isn't a question of whether the tom is right or wrong, because coalpaw knows he is always right. he doesn't know when to give up or when to stop arguing. it's just how he works, and he isn't entirely proud of that. going along with his arrogance, there is a strong amount of confidence built up inside of him. he is one hundred percent confident that he will succeed at anything he does. he doesn't like to think of failure or losing a challenge. coalpaw still hasn't learned that he cannot live like that, but hopefully as he goes through apprenticeship he will change. but only time will tell.
but deep down, deeper than coalpaw can tell, he is a bit of a sensitive cat. some of the reasons he is so cocky, such a jerk, so cold is because of his sensitivity. whether he likes it or not, things that cats say can often get to him and bother him. maybe that's the why he is the way he is. it's too early to tell. as the young coalpaw grows through life, he may adapt and become a completely different cat. but like before, only time will tell.
familyblackhawk, father - deceased
shadeflower, mother - 77 moons - adoptable
ashpaw, brother - 8 moons - adoptable
shadowfur, brother - 22 moons - adoptable
experienceso far, coalpaw has had a pretty smooth life. nothing too dramatic has happened, besides the death of his father. coalpaw was too young to remember, so it doesn't affect him as much as it should. blackhawk had gotten into a fight with a rogue as a young warrior, and unfortunately, did not survive. he left shadeflower all alone to raise the kits by herself. the only cat old enough to remember it was shadowfur, who was shadeflower's first litter of only a single kit.
but besides that, coalpaw has lived a relatively happy life. he hopes this continues, but while one lives a life as warrior, he can never be positive. he has just became an apprentice and is ready to break into the world in front of him.
