name Fernpaw
age 7 moons
gender she-cat
clan vertigoclan
rank apprentice
reason for name slight tabby markings
appearance descriptionFernpaw is a well proportioned young lady. Not too tall but not too short, she has long legs but boasts well sculpted muscles to balance herself out. She isn't one of the heftier cats that Vertigoclan is used to, though she makes up for it with her intense desire for the strength she never had. This is evident in how Fernpaw carries herself, as if she is just as big or bigger than the rest of the cats in the Clan. She walks with a certain swagger and her head held high, ready to spit some kind of retort in the case that anyone questions her royalty.
She has paws that are too big for her body, making her slightly clumsy despite how hard she tries to remain graceful. She has relatively short for along her body, though her tail is puffy and elongated like her father's. She has bright green eyes set against a silver tabby face, her muzzle slightly pushed in against her face to give her a forever youthful look. She stands out against the usual tabbies of Vertigoclan but relishes in her difference. Her resting face is often a smug smile or a confused frown, depending on her mood for the day.

personalityFernpaw was never exactly the cool and collected cat that she liked to boast she was. Since day one she's been loud mouthed and full of opinions, driving her mother and sister up the wall with her constant bickering and pushing buttons until the elders started taking her out for strolls to give them a break. Fernpaw was always particularly stubborn in that manner, but grew out of it as she aged with her sister, becoming aware of consquences.
It wasn't until her brother fell ill with kitten-cough and later died (he was already young and scrawny was it was) that Fernpaw sobered up. It expelled a reality to her that she had never been aware of, that there was no fighting death. Her obsession to become stronger is deeply routed in this incident. If she could not fight death, she could at least resist it and evade it. Fernpaw wasted no time mourning, though she harbors the pain and waits to utilize it in more productive ways.
Her thoughts on Starclan waver. At times she is a devout believer and follower of her ancestors, at other times she is far more confused and tempted to curse their names. Fernpaw wavers in decision making often and can't help but struggle to comprehend large ideas. She likes to appreciate the simple things. She loves to eat. She loves to fight. She loves to train. She loves her family and her Clan. Fernpaw doesn't like to question the given, but instead resigns herself to be a blind follower.
She is subject to change as she ages, the events that follow her apprenticeship will probably shape her into a mildly different cat. She is not one to be set in her ways, often molded by whomever she keeps in her company.

experience"Fernkit, your brother has passed on to Starclan."
The words haunted the kit. It had been two moons since the loss of her brother. She was aware of the pain, but kept it hidden from her siblings. She couldn't stand their pain. She didn't like to see it on their faces, nor did she like to see the pity on the rest of the Clan's faces. Fernkit wanted to be taken seriously. They looked at her like she was going to break at very mention of her brother's name. She tried to shake it off, to smile and be happy, but that seemed just as impossible as expressing her pain as well. There was nothing, only a numbness.
Time passed and Fernkit became Fernpaw, apprenticed to -- (name here). Her desire for strength and her passion for her Clan gave her an advantage over the rest of the apprentices. She wasn't scared. She wasn't timid. She was ambitious. She knew exactly what she wanted and did not plan on being weighed down by the rest of the apprentices.
(short, sweet, and to the point. didn't feel like adding much due to her youth)
