personalityat first, splashmist is a shy little cat, wary of speaking to those that she doesn't know. this has become especially true in her new clan, as she carries the buried anxiety that her clanmates will eventually cast her out for her tempestclan heritage. she didn't fit in too well in her birth clan, due to being a very peaceful cat. splashmist is not a cat who won't get into a fight, but she has never had much of a taste for blood, nor has she ever possessed the skill for fighting; she is simply too small and weak to really amount to much of a fighter. this caused her many problems in her birth clan as her cousin, later the leader of the clan, dreamstar, looked down on her for being a poor fighter, as did the rest of her clanmates.family
perhaps with more of a desire to rip and tear splashmist could excel; but she is, as stated before, simply too much of a peacemaker. still, it can be said that she has a rebellious streak to her. after all, she did run away from her clan, pregnant and just over a year old, to be with a vertigoclan warrior. call her impulsive, but there was simply nothing for her in tempestclan.
splashmist is a very tolerant and open-minded cat, which is probably what led her to fall in love with duneshade over the border to begin with. she judges by character alone, rank, clan, etc, not included. at times her "tempestclan side" can come out a bit; just because she's a bit of a pacifist doesn't mean she can't have a sharp tongue. splashmist does what she believes to be right and can be rather feisty and sassy. however, once you get past her barriers and her shyness, she's really a very tender-hearted cat, and makes for an affectionate mate and friend.

experienceas a young apprentice tempestclan kits tormented her. her cousin, the deputy at the time, was incredibly hard on her and her only friend in her clan was her gentle mentor, islandsplash. she was also bullied by her brother, jayblue, who was mentored by dreamfeather. she didn't fit in in tempestclan at all, due to her small, weak stature and her peaceable nature. she failed at fighting and "barely became a warrior" as her family would put it. as an apprentice, she met a tom her age who lived in vertigoclan. he was named dunepaw, and he was a lot like her; something of an outcast because of physical disability and a peaceable nature. the two became quick friends, despite the interference of their older clanmates. as they grew up together, they gradually fell in love and after a short time apart the two agreed that splashmist would leave her clan to join duneshade's. pregnant at the time with their two sons, scorchkit and mottledkit, she fled her clan and was welcomed to vertigoclan by flamingstar.
