appearance description
Bearclaw is a huge guy. He was born almost double the size of his brother as a kit, and remained that way all throughout his life. Most of his size comes from his muscles, which are well defined despite his thick pelt. The bulk of his weight is carried in his shoulders and his back legs; giving him an advantage in brute strength and intimidation.
Unfortunately, the sheer size of him comes at a price- his speed. Although he's not a clumsy fellow, he certainly finds it difficult to be light on his feet. In battle, he prefers the tactic of pinning and pummeling, rather than evasion, if only for the fact that he has trouble staying out of his enemies eyes with his speed. He also has slight difficult in hunting when it comes to pouncing and balancing his bulk.
Bearclaw finds his pelt to be to his advantage in most situations. Being a dark brown littered with the basic black tabby markings, it allows him to easily blend into shadows and darker surroundings. His hair is somewhat more thick than most tabbies, and this provides difficulty in the leaf-green months. With fiery, bright, piercing amber eyes, Bearclaw isn't a bad looking fellow, in the end.

personality
Bearclaw isn't the most, amicable, of all cats, to put it lightly. It's not that he doesn't like others, or that he's antisocial. But perhaps rather that he lacks certain socialization skills when it comes to things such as empathy and a desire for companionship. Now this isn't to say that Bearclaw dislikes company and others, but instead that he's picky when it comes to whom he chooses to spend his time with. He also doesn't exactly throw himself into the midst of social situations at places like gatherings and clan meetings. If there is a job to be done, Bearclaw would rather do it and move on.
Speaking of tasks to be done, Bearclaw is the kind of cat who won't stand for arguments on how things should be done. Whether it's a party leader, the clan leader, or himself in question, Bearclaw won't voice his opinion and argue, and won't tolerate others doing the same against him. While he's open to suggestions on how to improve things- efficiency is his true love- he doesn't take kindly to being criticized. The same also goes for being mocked, taunted, or any variation of such.
While actually a pretty lonely fellow, Bearclaw finds himself one of the least trusting cats among the clans. He's open to trust his clan, and is loyal to them to the death, but he's rather suspicious of other clans and outsides, constantly questioning their motives and inventing imaginary revolt scenarios. His life is the Warrior Code, and he will follow it until the grave. Although he may occasionally fear dying alone, Bearclaw would never admit his feelings to anyone; even his best friend. He secretly desires courtship, but his loyalty to his clan first, his suspicious nature, and his somewhat anti-social, picky personality prevent him from truly doing anything about it.
All negativity aside, what really makes Bearclaw as a cat and a true warrior is his ability to stick to his beliefs. He's extremely dedicated to his causes, he's extremely loyal, and aside from his outer personality, he's an easy guy to get along with. Most cats enjoy his company due to his excellent listening skills, albeit not being too social, and he's also pretty good with advice. Y'know, from an unbiased 'well-if-you-ask-me' standpoint. He's also easy to trust and open up to, as he finds himself holding many of the clan cats small secrets as they slip.

experienceBearclaw was born like any other cat, into a litter of three. With his brother, Tigerpaw, and his sister, Snowfur, he was just like any other kit in the forest. His life was pretty normal too, he had no horribly abusive parents, or an outrageous mentor. His life went on with bliss until two moons into his apprenticeship, when he experienced his first loss. In a battle skirmish, Bearclaw lost his brother, Tigerpaw, at the claws of two rogues. Although he was utterly crushed, he remained strong for his mother and sister, who has seemed to become lost. His father was always there for support, but warrior duties kept him away from them most of the time. With time, both Bearclaw and his sister earned their warrior names, becoming proud servers of their clan and the warrior code. Unfortunately, they soon lost their father in a freak accident on a hunting patrol, which drove their mother into madness. Although he wishes his life had gotten better from there and worked out to be okay, his mother became increasingly ill from what most cats believed to be grief, and died of illness in the midst of the next leaf bare. Holding on to the only family he had left, Bearclaw became closer than ever to his sister. The two become inseparable, and often antisocial sans each other, until one day, Snowfur disappeared. Moons went by that Bearclaw searched for her, but she was nowhere to be found. Almost four moons later, her body was found on the border of their territory, reeking of rogue. Bearclaw was left alone to face the prospect of his still young and upcoming future.
